About The Position

The Associate position is within the rapidly growing M&A practice in Chicago. Successful candidates are expected to possess strong cognitive and interpersonal abilities, a desire for professional development, and motivation to contribute to a leading M&A advisory firm. Associates will work closely with senior bankers and clients' senior executives, gaining involvement in all aspects of M&A transactions from start to finish. The role offers exposure to international clients and buyers due to the firm's global platform. Associates are also expected to support Analysts' development and contribute to new business development efforts, with continuous opportunities for accelerated professional development and career trajectory.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of M&A experience required
  • Fluent in accounting and finance and strong business acumen
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Assertive, self-motivated and desire to succeed in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment

Responsibilities

  • Performing financial analyses and valuations
  • Conducting industry research
  • Identifying and contacting potential buyers or acquisition targets
  • Preparing confidential information memoranda and management presentations
  • Interacting with senior bankers and clients’ senior executives
  • Participating in new business meetings
  • Hosting visits by potential buyers at client facilities
  • Supporting senior bankers during transaction negotiations
  • Facilitating due diligence and transaction closings
  • Leading or implementing initiatives focused on growing the firm’s franchise value
