The Application Portfolio Architect evaluates application portfolios to support mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic partnerships across the healthcare enterprise. The role assesses business and technical fit, identifies functional overlap and capability gaps, and defines integration and rationalization strategies that align acquired technologies with the existing application landscape, operating model, and regulatory obligations. The position partners with business leaders, product teams, enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, infrastructure, data teams, and integration partners on pre-acquisition due diligence and post-close integration planning. It calls for experience with healthcare technology ecosystems, application rationalization, cloud and integration patterns, and regulatory considerations such as HIPAA, privacy, and data governance. The role begins to influence department strategy, makes decisions on moderately complex to complex technical approaches, performs work without direction, and exercises considerable latitude in determining goals and approaches. This is a remote position, with occasional travel to Humana offices for training or meetings possibly required. Work-from-home employees must meet internet connectivity requirements and work from a dedicated space that protects member PHI/HIPAA information. The schedule is 40 hours per week. The stated annual base pay range is $106,900–$147,000, with eligibility for a bonus incentive plan.
