About The Position
Under the direction of a registered nurse or physician and under assigned administrative supervision, provides care within the scope of the Vocational Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards. Assists in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care. Follows patient identification procedures, provides appropriate information for all patient procedures, and collects and handles specimens. Assesses and implements prescribed interventions for the patient. Implements and documents discharge plan for each patient. Recognizes that ethical/legal/medical dilemmas exist in the nursing practice and confers with the appropriate resource personnel when making ethical nursing decisions. Participates in maintaining a safe patient care environment. Assist with the care and maintenance of department equipment. Complete and accurate charting of patient records. Complete and accurate record keeping of equipment and quality measures. Collaborate with other disciplines of the health care team to ensure the delivery of care across the continuum, providing timely, safe and quality care. Responsible for providing a safe, HIPAA compliant environment for the patient and the staff. Performs other duties as assigned. Primary Care and Urgent Care: Assist medical personnel with special procedures, minor surgical procedures and/or diagnostic exams. The LVN will process in office tests, collect specimens, and perform procedures within the scope of the Vocational Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards.
Requirements
- Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)
- Knowledge of the Vocational Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards
- Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
- Proficiency in patient identification procedures
- Skill in collecting and handling specimens
- Ability to assess and implement prescribed interventions
- Ability to implement and document discharge plans
- Understanding of ethical/legal/medical dilemmas in nursing practice
- Ability to maintain a safe patient care environment
- Skill in the care and maintenance of department equipment
- Proficiency in charting patient records
- Skill in record keeping of equipment and quality measures
- Ability to collaborate with other healthcare disciplines
