The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) assesses clients and provides nursing care in accordance with physicians’ orders and treatment objectives and as instructed by supervisor. The LPT works under the supervision of an RN in a substance use detox subacute hospital. Both roles involve assessing patients/clients, providing nursing care, monitoring vital signs, administering medications, documenting progress, and working as part of a treatment team. Responsibilities include managing emergencies, maintaining patient safety, adhering to policies and procedures, and ensuring client confidentiality.
