About The Position

BW Gold is a wholly owned subsidiary of Artemis Gold Inc (“Artemis”). Artemis Gold is a well-financed, growth-oriented gold development company with a strong financial capacity aimed at creating shareholder value through the identification, acquisition, and development of gold properties in mining-friendly jurisdictions. The Company's current focus is the Blackwater Mine in central British Columbia approximately 160km southwest of Prince George and 450km northeast of Vancouver. Reporting to the Supervisor – Maintenance, the LV Mechanic is responsible performing routine maintenance and repairs on Light Vehicles in the mining industry. Supports the Maintenance department's efforts to ensure the reliability and performance of Light Vehicle Fleet.

Requirements

  • Completion of high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Automotive Technician Red Seal Certification
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to work at a remote location camp on a 2 weeks on/2 weeks off rotation
  • Comfortable working and living in close quarters with the team
  • Ability to maintain high levels of performance over 12-hour shift
  • Ability to lift/move up to 50lbs throughout a work shift
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, tools, and equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Ford Dealer/OEM experience would be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate effective safety leadership by addressing and enforcing BW Golds safety standards, procedures, and safety systems.
  • Performing routine maintenance and repairs on Light Vehicles / Aux equipment, including- Light trucks, Class 7/8 highway trucks, UTV and Snowmobiles.
  • Apply proper diagnostic techniques to identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues with equipment.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and take on new challenges, while contributing to the overall success of the Maintenance department.
  • May be required to maintain a clean-shaven appearance (i.e. no facial hair) to ensure the safe and effective use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) associated with assigned duties.
