About The Position

Responsible for monitoring student behavior during meal service. Assists with the cleanliness of the cafeteria, assists with recycling, and assists with the flow of meal service.

Requirements

• Maintain good working relationship with all employees and the public.
• Candidate must possess any combination of education and experience equivalent to completion of high school
• Frequent walking, standing, stooping, lifting, up to approximately 40 pounds, and occasional lifting of equipment weighing up to approximately 50 pounds may be required.
• Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities; the worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions.
• Regular contact with staff members, administrators, and parents is required.
• Contact with parents by phone and in person is necessary.
• Timely and regular attendance is an expectation of performance for all CCPS employees.
• To ensure adequate staffing, positive employee morale, and to meet expected productivity standards throughout the organization, employees will be held accountable for adhering to their workplace schedule.

Responsibilities

• Be professional, courteous and helpful to all parents and students
• Manages students during meal service (behavior problems will be referred to the teacher or principal according to guidelines established by the individual school site).
• Communicates with students and school staff in a positive and professional manner utilizing appropriate customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Circulate throughout the cafeteria or in areas where meals are served and/or eaten assisting students who need assistance.
• Assists with the cleanliness of the cafeteria.
• Dismisses classes in an orderly manner at the scheduled time.
• Encourage good table manners
• Communicate openly and effectively with students, parents, community patrons, staff and administration as a positive representative of Culpeper County School system
