About The Position
DarkHorse Express Solutions is looking for dependable individuals to assist with freight unloading and warehouse support on an on-call basis. This temporary position requires employees to unload trailers, move incoming merchandise, and prepare freight for the next stage of the distribution process. The role is physically demanding and best suited for someone who is comfortable working on their feet, handling heavy products, and maintaining a steady pace in an active warehouse environment. Weekday flexibility is important, as available shifts may be offered with limited notice. Our pay structure is based on productivity. Employees who consistently work efficiently and handle higher freight volumes have the opportunity to increase their weekly earnings.
Requirements
- Must be available Monday through Friday for on-call assignments.
- Ability to respond to available shifts, sometimes with short notice.
- Capable of lifting and moving packages or freight weighing up to 100 pounds.
- Able to perform repetitive physical tasks for extended periods.
- Reliable attendance and strong punctuality are required.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced warehouse setting.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in freight handling, warehousing, distribution, loading, or unloading is preferred but not necessary.
- Individuals without warehouse experience may be considered and trained.
Responsibilities
- Remove freight from trailers and containers using safe lifting and handling practices.
- Arrange merchandise by type, destination, or other warehouse requirements.
- Build and organize pallets for movement throughout the facility.
- Position freight in designated staging and storage locations.
- Keep dock areas clean and free of unnecessary materials or obstructions.
- Follow all warehouse safety procedures and use required protective equipment.
- Communicate with supervisors regarding assignments, freight, and workflow.
- Work cooperatively with other members of the unloading team.
- Maintain productivity and accuracy throughout each assigned shift.
