About The Position

Swan Valley Co-op is hiring a full-time Lumber Sales Clerk at our Home and Building location in The Pas, MB. Co-op does business differently. As a co-operative, we believe in working together to serve Western Canadians, delivering profits back to our communities and investing in sustainable growth. Our team provides a range of products and services to support our member-owners. Through the work that we do, we help to build, fuel, feed and grow Western Canadian communities together.

Requirements

Excellent customer service skills, communication skills and the ability to problem solve.
Basic math and reading skills.
Able to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings and weekends.
Well organized and capable of attaining a high level of production with a minimum amount of supervision.
Honest and trustworthy, results-oriented and strive to be the best in what you do.
Believe in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most, and recognize the value that different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of lumber and products associated with construction (considered an asset).

Responsibilities

Create a customer experience that makes a difference in our members lives; maintain and develop relationships with current contractor clients and customers.
Proper handling of all customer transactions.
Provide estimates, consultation and advice to customers for building projects.
Assist with preparing for sales promotions relating to Building Materials merchandise.
Participate in personal development and learning opportunities focused on competencies for the position.
