About The Position

Armstrong Collective is the parent company of Rocky Mountaineer (RM) and Canyon Spirit, offering unforgettable rail experiences. As a Luggage Host, you will be responsible for providing excellent guest satisfaction through direct service at the assigned destination. Your primary role is to handle guest luggage safely and accurately, delivering it to/from hotels or loading it into transport trucks. You will also assist at our Stations with guest boarding/de-boarding of trains. This position is deemed Safety Sensitive due to regular access to an active railway area and is part of the Destinations Guest Operations (DGO) team, responsible for the health and safety of colleagues, guests, the public, property, and the environment.

Requirements

  • Valid Class 5 AB or BC Driver’s License with demonstrated safe driving record (asset)
  • Experience in customer service
  • Professional communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to multitask and take initiative
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Energetic, motivated, hardworking and committed to guest service
  • Must be able to push, pull, lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada through the end of the season (until mid-October)

Responsibilities

  • Manage the journey of guest luggage with care, ensuring all belongings are safely handled.
  • Assist at train arrivals/departures by providing help to guests with mobility requirements, marshalling motorcoaches, and other tasks as required.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness at Stations and Guest Centres to create a welcoming environment.
  • Identify issues when they arise and work with other team members/management to promptly resolve them.
  • Tailor experiences for guests with special requirements, ensuring their journey is comfortable and memorable.
  • Foster a safe, respectful, and positive work environment, supporting team orientation, training, and communication.
  • Uphold RM brand standards and contribute to team motivation, relationship-building, and goal achievement.
  • Collaborate with station management to recommend and implement guest experience improvements.
  • Ensure adherence to RM safety and security standards, promoting a culture of safety and assisting in emergency response procedures.
  • Report and support investigations of workplace incidents promptly and accurately.
