About The Position

Sunoco LP is a leading energy infrastructure and fuel distribution master limited partnership. The Lubricant Business Analyst is responsible for providing business, sales, market, volume, pricing and profitability analytics to support growth and performance of Sunoco’s “Non-Fuel Products” business. This role involves Business, Market and Volume Analytics, Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) Portfolio Management, Non-Fuel Sales Growth, and Problem-Solving.

Requirements

Knowledge and experience in lubricants, DEF, petroleum or any related industry.
Experience in product portfolio management, pricing, sales, commercial operations, or category management.
Experience in working cross-functionally with Operations, Sales, Supply Chain, Finance and Procurement.
Ability to analyze volume, revenue, margin, pricing and market trends.
Advanced Excel skills and experience with data analysis.
Ability to skillfully perform all tasks related to end-to-end supply chain management activities including but not limited to inventory management, purchasing, receiving, warehouse management, inventory control, picking and staging orders, freight and delivery coordination, shipping, and customer invoicing.
Ability to effectively interact with existing customers with respect to informal check-ins, formal business reviews, and dealing with customer issues and requests.
Capable of developing pricing dashboards, monitor price realization, margin performance, and pricing compliance.
Good communication skills both written and verbal.
Strong time management and attention to detail.
Exceptional customer service skills.
Safety oriented.
Must have a valid license and abstract in good standing.
Must be able to travel and work after hours when required.

Responsibilities

Provide data-driven business, sales, market and volume insights that enable the lubricants business to grow profitable volume, optimize pricing and margins and identify market opportunities.
Monitor overall business performance vs budget, forecast and prior year.
Identify volume opportunities and underperforming segments.
Analyze lubricants customer, product, branch and regional performance.
Identify opportunities to improve and take action to develop and implement new/improved processes; including the documentation of standardized processes.
Monitor that Pricing of assigned product categories are aligned to market with respect to customer expectations and competitors (including but not limited to National Accounts).
Monitor competitor movements and industry trends.
Provide insights to support pricing and commercial strategies.
Focuses on Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) product, supply, compliance and commercial support.
Manage DEF products offering across bulk, totes, drums and packaged formats.
Own and facilitate the end-to-end DEF Order-to-Cash process, from customer order through invoicing and payment.
Analyze DEF volume, customer demand and portfolio growth.
Resolve order, pricing, delivery and billing discrepancies.
Ensure Service Level Agreements are established with customers and are being adhered to from a delivery perspective.
Intervene on any customer service-related issues/concerns and take action to resolve effectively in a timely manner.
Identify portfolio gaps and opportunities.
Manage DEF pricing positioning and competitiveness.
Support DEF reconciliation, including volume, deliveries, pricing and invoicing.
Optimize inventory across the portfolio.
Act as an Inside Sales representative by proactively reaching out to potential customers and providing information on DEF products, pricing, and service.
Identify cross-sell and other opportunities.
Participate in meetings with new or existing customers.
Analyze sales pipeline and market trends.
Train and support sales teams on portfolio changes.
Actively identify opportunities to improve and take ownership of assigned initiatives.
Actively participate in structured problem-solving sessions; assist in the development and implementation of process/system changes related to operational and customer service improvements.
Take immediate action in time sensitive situations to resolve internal issues and/or customer related issues, which may involve making customer deliveries and/or assuming other assigned duties as required.
Establish effective relationships with Branch management and associated employees of assigned Branches; support these Branches with respect to System Administration & Process Flow, Inventory Management & Control, Delivery Coordination & Oversight, and Customer Service & Relations.
Act as a resource to provide backup support to neighbouring/outlying branch locations for coverage required due to employee turnover, leaves, and/or vacations.
Support and lead other strategic initiatives, special projects and business priorities as assigned, contributing to the continuous improvement and overall growth of the Lubricants and DEF business.
