About The Position

The Lube Technician is responsible for performing express lube duties on vehicles. This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include adhering to express lube guidelines, performing lube, oil and filter changes, lubricating all joints, reporting necessary repairs to service advisors, installing completed LOF reminder stickers, checking and refilling various fluid levels (battery, tire air pressure, windshield fluid, transmission fluid, power steering fluid, coolant), ensuring vehicle cleanliness, checking fluid levels prior to vehicle release, maintaining CSI at or above Company standards, maintaining an organized, clean and safe work area, participating in required training, accurately recording hours worked, following Safeguards rules and regulations, demonstrating the Company’s Core Values, complying with Company policies and procedures, and observing all Federal, State, Local and Company safety rules and regulations. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Basic knowledge of automotive parts and systems.
  • Demonstrable mechanical skills and knowledge.
  • Technical training or commensurate technical experience.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Basic Computer skills to utilize timekeeping system.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and company personnel.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Ability to lift up to (50) pounds.
  • Ability to talk and hear.
  • Ability to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees.

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to express lube guidelines.
  • Performs lube, oil and filter changes by draining and replacing oil and filter, and lubricating all joints, including idler arm steering knuckles, tie rods ends and ball joints.
  • Reports all necessary repairs to service advisor.
  • Installs completed LOF reminder sticker in vehicle.
  • Checks battery, tire air pressure, windshield fluid, transmission fluid and power steering fluid levels and refills as needed.
  • Checks coolant level and refills as necessary.
  • Ensures that vehicle is clean and free of fluid residue or fingerprints.
  • Checks fluid level prior to release of vehicle to ensure proper levels.
  • Maintains CSI at or above Company standards
  • Maintains an organized, clean and safe work area
  • Participates in required training
  • Records all hours worked accurately in company timekeeping system
  • Follows Safeguards rules and regulations.
  • Demonstrates the Company’s Core Values
  • Complies with Company policies and procedures
  • Observes all Federal, State, Local and Company safety rules and regulations in the performance of duties.
