About The Position

During the Full-Service Oil Change, The Lube Technician is responsible for servicing and inspecting the complete underside of the vehicle quickly, safely, and accurately. The lube technician must pay careful attention that only the proper gaskets and drain plugs are installed, the vehicle is greased, the gear boxes checked, the oil filter is tight, and there are no leaks after installation. In addition to the duties listed above, every crew member is responsible for general center maintenance and cleaning duties such as mopping, washing center windows, lawn mowing, clearing litter, snow and ice from the site, and cleaning restrooms. Crew members must attend crew meetings and run errands as required, as well as other duties assigned by a supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Servicing and inspecting the complete underside of the vehicle quickly, safely, and accurately.
  • Ensuring proper gaskets and drain plugs are installed.
  • Greasing the vehicle.
  • Checking gear boxes.
  • Ensuring the oil filter is tight.
  • Checking for leaks after installation.
  • Working safely, wearing safety gear, and keeping the work area clean and organized.
  • Protecting the pit opening with a bay net when not occupied by a vehicle.
  • Filling out the Filters and Rock sheet properly for the CSA.
  • Performing visual inspection of belts, hoses, and other hood compartment components, and documenting unusual conditions.
  • Assisting with performing pressure and leak checks.
  • Performing ancillary services in a timely manner.
  • Obtaining the correct oil filter, draining oil, and inspecting the oil drain plug and gasket.
  • Replacing the bottom-side oil filter, when applicable.
  • Checking/filling gear boxes.
  • Performing additional services, such as fuel filters, transmissions, and differentials, when applicable.
  • Lubricating the chassis, when applicable, and installing a tamper seal on all plugs.
  • Assisting with final safety and quality checks.
  • Organizing and accounting for tools.
  • General center maintenance and cleaning duties such as mopping, washing center windows, lawn mowing, clearing litter, snow and ice from the site, and cleaning restrooms.
  • Attending crew meetings.
  • Running errands as required.
  • Performing other duties assigned by a supervisor.
