About The Position

Responsible for the actual service and/or repair of vehicles assigned to them by service management or their designated representatives.

Requirements

  • Trained in the service and/or repair of vehicles.
  • Adherence to applicable safety requirements and published procedures.
  • Ability to inspect vehicle fluid levels and replenish as necessary.
  • Ability to check tire pressure and add air if needed.
  • Proficiency in using special tools and equipment provided by the service department.
  • Willingness to participate in technical training programs.
  • Ability to perform work efficiently and accurately according to dealership and factory standards.
  • Effective communication with service advisors regarding vehicle repairs.
  • Maintenance of an organized and clean workspace.
  • Ensuring customer vehicles are returned clean.
  • Adherence to personal grooming, hygiene, and uniform standards.
  • Striving to achieve production objectives.
  • Reviewing technical bulletins and publications.
  • Providing administrative assistance for warranty repair orders.
  • Reporting safety, welfare, or integrity concerns to management.
  • Economical use of shop supplies and materials.
  • Documentation of all work performed and recommended.
  • Constructive communication with dealership personnel.
  • Compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know).
  • Compliance with federal, state, and local law and company policy regarding safeguarding information.
  • Punctuality and adherence to work schedule.
  • Completion of annual HR training and other required training.
  • Adherence to all company policies and procedures.
  • Reporting of any illegal activity to supervisor.
  • Maintenance of an acceptable driving record.
  • Not being under the influence of any substance (including medical marijuana) on-site or during work hours.
  • Prohibition from tasks constituting negligence or professional malpractice while under the influence.
  • Prohibition from operating any type of powered vehicle or equipment while under the influence.

Responsibilities

  • Properly complete the service and/or repairs for which the technician is trained as assigned by management or their designated representative.
  • Complete all work according to the applicable safety requirements and published procedures.
  • Inspects vehicle fluid levels, replenishes as necessary. Checks tire pressure and adds air if needed.
  • Properly use the special tools and equipment provided by the service department.
  • Participate in and utilize (to the best of ones ability) technical training as assigned by management. Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events.
  • Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
  • Communicates with service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
  • Maintain the work space assigned in an organized and cleanly manner.
  • Ensure that customer vehicles are returned to them as clean as they were prior to being serviced.
  • Maintain personal grooming, hygiene and uniform standards according to departmental policy.
  • Make every effort to achieve the production objectives set by management.
  • Review the technical bulletins and other publications as assigned by management.
  • Provide the administrative assistance necessary to complete warranty repair orders and other tasks assigned by management.
  • Report to management any situation or condition that would jeopardize the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its customers or employees.
  • Use shop supplies and materials in a practical and economical manner.
  • Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
  • Constructively communicate with other dealership personnel as required to satisfy customer needs.
  • Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
  • Follows federal, state and local law as well as company policy about safeguarding all information.
  • Reports on time to work and follows schedule that is given. Calls supervisor if he/she cannot be at work on time.
  • Keeps current with annual HR training along with any other training that might be required for this position.
  • Follows all company policies and procedures. Notifies supervisor of any illegal activity.
  • The individual must maintain an acceptable driving record according to our insurance standards at all times.
  • No employee or applicant should be under the influence of any substance including medical marijuana on- site or during work hours. Further, employees under the influence of are prohibited from undertaking any task that would constitute negligence or professional malpractice, and are prohibited from operating any type of powered vehicle or powered equipment – handheld or otherwise.
