About The Position

Budget Truck is seeking a Lube and Tire Technician to perform preventive maintenance and light repair work on their fleet of box trucks and cargo vans. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in automotive and truck maintenance, working with newer vehicles across multiple brands. The technician will be responsible for oil and fluid services, tire repairs and rotations, and ensuring all tasks are completed safely and with a focus on quality. Depending on experience, there may be opportunities to assist with more complex repairs and diagnostics. The role may also require driving a Budget Truck on public roads for testing or operational needs. By maintaining the fleet, the technician directly contributes to customer safety, vehicle availability, and a positive rental experience.

Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License (Class A, B, or C)
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude or prior auto maintenance experience
• Comfortable working in a mechanical shop with moderate to loud noise levels
• Basic computer skills, including typing and data entry
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to continuously stand, bend, reach, walk, sit and kneel frequently
• Must be able to enter, exit and drive vehicles
• Must be able to obtain DOT medical clearance
• Must be at least 21 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States
• This position requires regular, on-site presence and cannot be performed remotely

Nice To Haves

• 6 months auto maintenance experience or completion of an automotive technical school program is a bonus

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and light repair work on box trucks and cargo vans.
• Conduct oil and fluid services.
• Perform tire repairs and rotations.
• Complete all tasks in a safe and quality-focused manner.
• Assist more experienced technicians with additional repairs and diagnostics as skills develop.
• Drive a Budget Truck on public roads for testing or operational needs (as required).
