About The Position

The LTO II - Quality Control Department position is responsible for safely and cost-effectively transporting merchandise from trailers to storage locations and from storage areas to trailers for shipping. This role involves operating lift trucks, completing necessary paperwork, packaging materials, and maintaining the cleanliness of the work area. The position requires adherence to the company's policies on absenteeism, tardiness, work schedules, and overtime. Additionally, the role may involve assisting other lift truck operators and performing duties of other positions when necessary.

Requirements

  • Must be able to sit on lift truck for entire shift.
  • Must be able to stand on lift truck for entire shift.
  • Must be able to mount/dismount lift truck on an average of 15 times per hour.
  • Must pass an eye exam given by the company nurse.
  • Must be able to work in a warehouse environment which may be quite warm or cool.
  • Must be able to bend and lift up to 100 lbs. as needed, up to 20 or more times an hour for 8 hours.
  • Must be able to work from a turret truck up to 30 feet in the air.
  • Must be able to read, write and comprehend shipping documents, bin locations and orders.
  • Must be able to perform simple mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Must be able to read and understand instructions displayed on R.F. unit.
  • Must complete corporate orientation training program (New Hires).
  • Must complete OJT training, quality-related training, and safety-related training required.
  • Must complete onsite training program.
  • Must complete Lift Truck Training Program.
  • Must complete Central Hiring New Employee Orientation Program.

Responsibilities

  • Receiving a pull task with information on the tile material to be pulled and retrieving the correct material with a lift truck.
  • Transporting a pallet by forklift to and from locations.
  • Completing paperwork as required.
  • Wrapping and banding tile materials prepared on pallets.
  • Preparing and packaging miscellaneous items in boxes for shipment.
  • Taping and repairing any damaged packaging.
  • Raising or lowering dock leveler.
  • Adhering to the corporate absenteeism and tardiness policy.
  • Adhering to the normal work schedule, including starting and stopping times, and rotating days if applicable.
  • Working necessary overtime.
  • Helping to keep the shipping/receiving area clean.
  • Performing the duties of other lift truck operators when necessary.
