About The Position

The LTL Sales Coordinator is responsible for developing and maintaining customer relationships, coordinating Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) shipments, generating freight quotations, and supporting transportation sales growth. This role serves as a liaison between customers, carriers, warehouse operations, and internal departments to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and timely freight movement. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, results-driven, and knowledgeable in transportation and logistics operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in logistics, transportation, freight coordination, customer service, or sales support.
  • Strong understanding of LTL shipping and transportation terminology.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Approximately 10% travel required, primarily within the United States for customer visits, sales meetings, and trade shows.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new LTL freight opportunities through prospecting, referrals, and customer outreach.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
  • Prepare and provide accurate freight quotes based on customer requirements.
  • Follow up on quotes and sales opportunities to secure new shipments and accounts.
  • Assist in achieving monthly sales and revenue goals.
  • Maintain customer records, sales activities, and pipeline information in company systems.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for transportation-related customer inquiries.
  • Provide shipment tracking, transit information, freight rates, and service updates.
  • Respond promptly to customer concerns and resolve service-related issues.
  • Develop long-term customer relationships to support retention and account growth.
  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through responsive and professional service.
  • Coordinate daily LTL shipments with approved carriers and logistics providers.
  • Schedule freight pickups and deliveries while ensuring service requirements are met.
  • Monitor shipment status and proactively address delays or service disruptions.
  • Prepare and maintain shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading (BOLs) and shipment records.
  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements and company procedures.
  • Obtain and compare carrier rates to secure competitive pricing and service levels.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with LTL carriers and transportation partners.
  • Evaluate carrier performance related to cost, service quality, and delivery reliability.
  • Assist with freight claims, service issues, and billing discrepancies.
  • Support carrier negotiations and routing decisions when needed.
  • Maintain accurate shipment, customer, and carrier records.
  • Track transportation activity, revenue, and account performance.
  • Prepare reports related to sales activities, shipment volume, and freight spend.
  • Support management with transportation planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work closely with Sales, Warehouse, Customer Service, Operations, and Accounting teams.
  • Assist with inventory movement and transportation planning.
  • Support company initiatives designed to improve efficiency, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
