About The Position
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care within various healthcare settings across the United States. Requirements
- Current and valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of employment within the United States.
- Completion of an accredited practical nursing program.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Strong understanding of nursing principles, patient care techniques, and medical terminology.
- Ability to pass background checks and meet health screening requirements.
- Clinical skills daily to assess patient conditions, administer medications safely, and perform nursing procedures with precision.
- Strong observational skills are essential for identifying subtle changes in patient health and communicating these to the care team promptly.
- Effective communication skills enable the LPN to educate patients and collaborate with colleagues, ensuring cohesive and comprehensive care delivery.
- Proficiency with electronic health records supports accurate documentation and efficient information sharing.
- Critical thinking and time management skills help the LPN prioritize tasks and respond effectively in fast-paced healthcare environments.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working in a hospital, long-term care facility, or outpatient clinic.
- Additional certifications such as IV therapy, medication administration, or wound care.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Responsibilities
- Provide basic nursing care to patients, including monitoring vital signs, administering prescribed medications, and assisting with daily living activities.
- Observe and report changes in patients' conditions to registered nurses and physicians promptly.
- Assist with wound care, catheterization, and other medical procedures as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting care provided and patient responses.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Educate patients and their families on health maintenance, disease prevention, and post-treatment care.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, safety protocols, and infection control standards.
