About The Position

The LPN performs selected and delegated nursing tasks in patient care, completes patient physical assessments, carries out treatments ordered by a provider, and participates in patient and family education. The role is in Dermatology and is scheduled for 24 hours per week on weekdays during the day shift. The scheduled hours are 7:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. A $7,500 sign-on bonus is offered to new caregivers; eligibility should be discussed with Talent Acquisition during the interview process.

Requirements

Completion of an accredited practical nursing program.
Current Massachusetts licensure.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Knowledge of basic nursing procedures.
Strong interpersonal skills to gather information, build relationships that support collaboration within the department and across the organization, and provide exceptional patient service.

Responsibilities

Assess and obtain patients’ basic health status, records, and related data according to standard procedures and patient and family needs.
Administer medications, perform ordered treatments, and operate equipment according to policies and procedures.
Perform venipuncture using aseptic technique, 12-lead EKGs, and administer vaccinations.
Participate in implementing and evaluating care plans, including long- and short-term goals, nursing actions, and teaching.
Document patient care according to standard procedures; record and report observed symptoms, reactions, treatments, and changes in patient condition to a provider and/or RN; assist with analyzing and interpreting patient data.
Assist providers with treatments, procedures, and special tests as required or directed.
Communicate with patients electronically, by telephone, and in person within the scope of practice.
Collaborate with other health care providers to ensure quality and continuity of care.
Maintain a safe environment.
