The LPN works closely with the RN in all aspects of registrant care to ensure continuity of care. This role is responsible for delivering care as directed by the RN, administering and charting medications, performing and charting treatments, and supervising and instructing Resident Care Associates (RCAs) in their duties. The position requires flexibility to work more than eight hours per day or forty hours per week periodically. The LPN must adhere to the philosophy, standards, policies, and procedures of St. Luke ADHC, monitor staff compliance, and assist in emergency care. This role involves transcribing physician's orders, completing necessary forms, assisting with the orientation and supervision of other care personnel, and supporting the RN in evaluating registrant needs and care. The LPN will also relieve CNAs for breaks, monitor mealtimes, direct unit cleaning, and maintain medication room standards. A key responsibility includes the proper maintenance of controlled substances. The LPN will assist with activities, supervise RCAs in personal hygiene and daily activities, and provide reports and instructions to RCAs. They will handle and consult on difficulties and problems within the ADHC, ensure weights and vital signs are taken and documented, verify information on the Consultation Sheet, and order early meal trays. The LPN will also assist with paperwork and transportation for emergency care, check transfer forms, report accidents/incidents/medication errors, and maintain registrant confidentiality. Participation in St. Luke's Quality Assurance Program and assisting RCAs with registrant care as needed are also expected. Other related duties may be assigned by a supervisor.
