About The Position

This position involves providing nursing care to geriatric patients, including dispensing medications and treatments, maintaining patient records, making nursing care assignments, and ensuring a safe and clean environment. The role requires comprehensive knowledge of nursing theory and practice, as well as the ability to instruct and supervise auxiliary personnel. The LPN will work in a well-lighted and ventilated environment and must be able to handle the physical and emotional demands of geriatric nursing.

Requirements

• A Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
• Current registration with State Board of Examiners
• Current Health Card
• Good physical and mental health
• Finger and hand dexterity to handle and manipulate instruments and equipment.
• Visual and aural acuity to detect changes in patient’s condition.
• Understanding patients, tact in dealing with the geriatric patient and their families.
• Competently able to inform Doctor of record of patient’s condition, as needed.
• Memory for details.
• Initiative and judgment in determining needs of her/his patients.
• The Ability to maintain good working relationship with other staff members.
• BLS Certification
• LPN (Required)
• Ability to Relocate before starting work to Bartlett, TN 38134

Nice To Haves

• Experience in geriatrics helpful
• LVN (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Dispensing of medications and treatments as ordered by physician of record.
• Noting if said medications are of correct dosage, strength labeled and if supply is adequate.
• Maintain correct records of medications and treatments.
• Making notes of all pertinent information regarding condition of patient on nurse’s notes.
• Make nursing care assignments and check to assure said assignments are carried out.
• Instruct and supervise patient care as needed.
• Maintain clean and orderly safe environment for patients and staff under her supervision.
• Orientation to nursing home fire and emergency plan.
