About The Position

The LPN is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of persons served/clients as they go through the rehabilitation process. This role involves conducting nursing assessments, monitoring clients, and participating as a member of the Treatment Team. The LPN will handle medication management, train staff on dispensing, and ensure adherence to Universal Precautions. They will also facilitate Health Education groups, observe and assess clients for clinical signs and symptoms, and implement prescribed courses of treatment. Protecting client privacy in accordance with OVP Health policies and federal/state laws is paramount. The Nurse is expected to maintain a respectful and professional demeanor towards clients and fellow staff, fostering positive working relationships and bringing any policy or personnel issues to supervision.

Requirements

  • Must have an Associates or Bachelor's Degree from approved Nursing school
  • Active license as a LPN in the State of Ohio
  • Ability to interact with a multi-disciplinary team to assist in facets of the recovery program relating to physical health
  • Have the ability to communicate with other staff and assist in ensuring the safety of the client
  • Flexibility to adapt to schedule changes and assumption of responsibilities not delineated in the job description which is related to work as a member of an addiction treatment team
  • Attention to detail and organization a must
  • Computer literate with experience in a Windows environment
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to prioritize work and work-related responsibilities
  • Ability to lift minimum 25 pounds
  • Ability to perform job responsibilities in a facility without elevator or mechanical transportation
  • Operates a computer and keyboard

Nice To Haves

  • 2 or more years of experience as a LPN preferred
  • Substance abuse experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conducts Nursing Assessments and monitoring of clients
  • Member of the Treatment Team
  • Handles the medication management; trains staff on medication dispensing
  • Ensures Universal Precautions of the center
  • Facilitates Health Education groups including General Health Education, Medication/Drug Interactions
  • Observe and assess clients for clinical signs and symptoms and follow the prescribed course of treatment
  • Determines and implements specific protocol as designated by the Doctor
  • Protect the privacy of all client information in accordance with OVP Health privacy policies, procedures and practices, as required by federal and state law, and in accordance with the general principle of professionalism as a health care provider
  • Maintain a respectful relationship with clients
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times displaying a professional disposition towards fellow staff
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with staff and consumers alike
  • Bring policy/personnel issues to supervision as they arise
