About The Position

This is a 13-week temporary position for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) working evening shifts in Mathews, Virginia. The LPN contributes to the development, maintenance, or modification of individual service plans, identifies changes in resident condition with proper documentation, and demonstrates consistent follow-through for positive resident outcomes. The role requires utilizing good judgment and specialized skills. The LPN works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, Nurse Manager, or Nursing Supervisor, and is ultimately responsible to the Director of Nursing or Assistant Director of Nursing and Director of Quality Care Management. Key responsibilities include monitoring residents, participating in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care, and providing for the emotional, physical comfort, and safety of residents and their families. The LPN will also assist in supervising auxiliary personnel, assigning duties to non-professional staff, engaging team members for optimal performance, and addressing performance issues as needed. The position also involves allowing resident choices within capability limits, considering safety and dignity, and adhering to facility policies regarding resident privacy and dignity.

Requirements

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) Upon Hire(Required)
  • CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) within 30 Days(Required)

Responsibilities

  • Engages team members for optimal performance and addresses performance as needed.
  • Contributes to the development, maintenance, or modifications to the individual service plans.
  • Identifies changes in condition with proper documentation according to nursing practice standards.
  • Demonstrates consistent follow through for positive resident outcomes.
  • Utilizes good judgment and specialized skills.
