The LPN will prepare and room patients for exams by obtaining vital signs and documenting pertinent health information. They will perform laboratory procedures, assist physicians/providers with procedures and surgeries, and administer medications under physician/provider orders. The LPN will also initiate, maintain, and discontinue IV therapy with limitations, provide basic patient education, and follow through with necessary procedure or test requests. They will refer questions to registered nurses and physicians/providers per scope of practice guidelines and communicate accurately and timely with the healthcare team. Additionally, the LPN will perform advanced clinical tasks such as removal of sutures and staples, catheterization, and EKGs, and maintain exam rooms and equipment. This role requires the ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate for the age of the patients served, including understanding growth and development principles.
