About The Position
Assist the Registered Nurse (RN) in the coordination and care of assigned patients, including admission, treatment planning and ongoing case management during treatment stay and discharge planning. Contribute to the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis. Monitor patients’ condition and report findings. Provide assistance with daily activities such as eating, bathing and ambulation. Obtain vital signs, perform dressing changes, monitor drains and IV’s. Assume patient transport role as needed. Administer those medications not requiring an initial or reassessment. Respond to emergency medical situations in an urgent manner and perform on the spot emergency assistance. Provide patients and their families with emotional and psychological support. Participate in quality and process related initiatives. Consistently provides service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers and co-workers. Performs other work-related tasks and activities as assigned or requested by manager.
Requirements
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current Massachusetts LPN License
- Basic Life Support certification (BLS) and must maintain certification
- Successful completion of Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training within 3 months of hire and must maintain certification
Nice To Haves
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification (ACLS) preferred
