About The Position

The LPN Unit Manager is responsible for the overall clinical and operational management of an assigned nursing unit within the long-term care facility. This role ensures high-quality resident care, staff supervision, regulatory compliance, and effective coordination with the interdisciplinary team.

Requirements

  • Current, active LPN license in good standing in Ohio
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting
  • Working knowledge of state and federal long-term care regulations (CMS preferred)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead a team in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • Prior supervisory, charge nurse, or unit-based leadership experience preferred
  • Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems
  • Participation in survey processes and quality improvement initiatives
  • Demonstrated experience in staff coaching and performance management

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate resident care on the assigned unit to ensure compliance with care plans, physician orders, and facility policies
  • Supervise and support nursing staff, including LPNs and CNAs, ensuring adequate staffing and appropriate care delivery
  • Conduct resident assessments and monitor changes in condition, reporting concerns promptly
  • Ensure accurate completion and maintenance of medical records, care plans, and documentation
  • Participate in admissions, discharges, transfers, and care conferences
  • Provide clinical leadership, coaching, and performance feedback to nursing staff
  • Promote infection prevention, safety, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Address resident and family concerns professionally and promptly
  • Assist with survey preparation, audits, and regulatory compliance activities
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapy, dietary, social services, and other interdisciplinary team members
  • Ensure residents’ rights, dignity, and quality of life are upheld at all times
