About The Position

This position is primarily responsible for coordinating residents' care in accordance with the Virginia Department of Social Services Standards and recognized nursing standards and practices. As a member of the Nursing Leadership team this position is responsible for implementing and auditing quality improvement measures. This position is also responsible for mentoring and coaching nurses and CNAs across Woodland Park and Transitional Care. Completion of performance reviews for supervised staff is also a required function of this position.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing with a current license to practice nursing in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Past demonstrated supervisory, coaching, and support skills with personal care staff.
  • Previous experience in long-term care/SNF required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively while maintaining a professional working relationship with the Director of Nursing, nursing leadership team, physicians, employees, families, and community partners.
  • Knowledgeable and passionate about geriatric care, transitional, and long-term care.
  • Ability to supervise, coordinate, and effectively lead the activities of others.
  • Ability to communicate orally, in writing, and through presentation effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively throughout the entire organization to effectively engage staff, residents, family members, and other stakeholders.
  • Computer experience with proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) for operations, report generation, and presentations.
  • Command of the English language, both written and spoken.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and willing to be flexible to accommodate changing priorities.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and in a team-based environment with minimal supervision.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screen as part of the pre-employment screening process.
