About The Position

Christie Clinic's department of Endocrinology in Bloomington at Medical Hills is seeking a full-time LPN/RN from Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm, with no night or weekend requirements. This position will allow for a hybrid/remote schedule of one day per week once training and department competencies are successfully completed. Duties include the provision of professional nursing care for clinic patients following established standards and practices.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
Evidence of annual completion of health related courses and/or seminars with a certificate and/or CEU’s
Possession of an Illinois State LPN or Registered Nurse License
CPR Certification

Responsibilities

Administer prescribed medications and treatment and injections in accordance with nursing standards and as directed by provider.
Prepare equipment and aid provider during treatment, examination and/or testing of the patient.
Observe, record and report patient’s condition and reaction to medication and/or treatment to provider.
Act as a liaison between the patient and provider regarding complaints, concerns, etc.
Instruct patient and family regarding medication, treatment instructions and patient education.
Demonstrate the ability to respond to triage calls using nursing assessment.
Perform special testing on patients.
Give injections to patients and draw blood, as needed in accordance with nursing standards and as directed by provider.
Obtain prior authorizations from insurance companies for medications and procedures.
Perform related work as required.
Arrange for patient testing and admission.
Send prescription refills in accordance with nursing standards and as directed by provider.
Obtain prior authorizations for medications, testing, procedures, equipment, etc.
Maintain work list from provider and follow up on labs, tests, reports, etc.
Attend and participate in departmental huddles and any other meetings as necessary.
