Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of Licensed Practical Nurse Educational Program
- 1 year clinical experience preferred.
- For OB/GYN department: 2 years clinical OB/GYN experience required
- Completion of accredited program for Licensed Practical Nursing.
- Current LPN license, ongoing and current BLS.
Responsibilities
- Licensed Practical Nurses work to promote health, prevent disease, and help patients cope with illness.
- They are advocates and health educators for patients, families, and communities.
- When providing direct patient care, they record symptoms, reactions, and progress; assist physicians during treatments and examinations; administer medications; and assist in convalescence and rehabilitation.
- Quality, age specific, and culturally sensitive care is provided by the Licensed Practical Nurse who implements interventions to ensure that patient/family needs are addressed including physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs.
