The Float Pool provides a unique experience for caregivers to care for diverse populations of patients in many units, departments and/or locations while learning from many of our best caregivers. As an LPN, you will provide basic bedside care to these patients, under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Physician. In this role, you can make a lasting difference in the lives of patients, all while enhancing your nursing skills through hands-on experience and numerous educational resources offered within the Cleveland Clinic system. A caregiver in this position works part-time| evenings| 11:00am—11:30pm or 7:00pm—7:30am| rotating weekends and holidays.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited practical or vocational nursing program
Current Ohio license as a Licensed Practical Nurse
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
If in an ED, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through American Heart Association (AHA) upon hire or within one year of beginning work in the Emergency Department
If in an ED, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) upon hire or within one year of beginning work in the Emergency Department

Nice To Haves

1 year of patient care experience
1-2 years of acute care/variety of patient experience

Responsibilities

Collect, document and report patient data and observations.
Implement care plans as directed by an RN and contribute to care plan revisions.
Administer medications and/or treatments authorized by a provider and observe patients for adverse reactions.
Perform routine laboratory tests.
Educate patients and family members.
