About The Position
The Licensed Vocational Nurse/Licensed Psychiatric Technician provides direct and indirect patient care services requiring technical and manual skills within the scope of practice. Care addresses patients’ psychosocial, physical, and general needs and their communication needs, as well as those of their families. The role works under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse and requires knowledge of EMTALA regulations and the triage process in an emergency room setting.
Requirements
- Current and valid state license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Psychiatric Technician.
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
Nice To Haves
- IV certification upon hire preferred.
- Minimum one year of experience in an applicable setting preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect patient care within the scope of practice.
- Address patients’ psychosocial, physical, and general care needs.
- Meet the communication needs of patients and their families.
- Perform under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Demonstrate knowledge of EMTALA regulations and the emergency room triage process.
