About The Position
Westminster Canterbury of Lynchburg, a 5-Star rated Continuing Care Retirement Community in Central VA, is seeking PRN/Limbo LPN's to join our growing team! This role involves planning, providing, and documenting advanced professional nursing care in resident care areas. Responsibilities include collecting and analyzing resident data, developing and implementing nursing care plans, responding to emergency and specialized resident care situations, evaluating nursing care practices, and communicating relevant information to appropriate personnel. The position also involves assisting staff with professional skill development, monitoring staff progress, coordinating nursing activities with other personnel and services, communicating with physicians, and supervising personnel actions such as merit recommendations, promotions, transfers, and leave schedules. The LPN will plan and provide nursing care under the direction of the Team Leader, in accordance with physician's orders and established nursing care policies and procedures. Evaluation of nursing care will focus on medication administration, prescribed treatments, and patient responses, with consultation with the supervisory nurse for goal setting.
Requirements
- A valid LPN License is required for the state of VA.
- Must receive the influenza vaccine.
- Recommend COVID-19 vaccines.
Responsibilities
- Plan, provide and document advanced professional nursing care in resident care areas
- Collect and analyze resident data
- Develop and implement nursing care plans
- Respond to emergency and specialized resident care situations
- Evaluate nursing care practices
- Communicate to appropriate personnel relevant facts about residents, nursing services rendered and resident responses
- Assist staff personnel in developing professional skills and in selecting priorities for the delivery of nursing care
- Monitor progress of staff and assist with reorganization of units as required
- Coordinate activities of nursing staff with other personnel and services engaged in caring for residents
- Communicate with physicians and advise other services of conditions or circumstances affecting resident care
- Supervise a variety of personnel actions to include, but not limited to, consultation with shift supervisor for merit recommendations, promotions, transfers, vacation schedules, sick leaves and dismissals for employees of unit
- Plan and provide nursing care under the direction of the Team Leader and in accordance with physician’s orders and established nursing care policies, procedures, and standards
- Evaluate nursing care with emphasis on medication administration, prescribed treatments and patient responses
- Consult with supervisory nurse in the establishment of short-term and long-range goals for patients
