About The Position

The LPN - Physician Office Nurse provides patient care through the nursing process in the Beebe Urology office. The role includes assessing and triaging patients, documenting care, performing office nursing procedures, following provider directions, and safely handling, labeling, and preparing specimens for laboratory transfer. The nurse operates office and medical equipment appropriately and performs duties within the scope of practice and organizational policies and procedures.

Requirements

At least 1 year of LPN experience; experience in a doctor's office is preferred.
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) credential.
Basic Life Saving (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Graduate of an LPN program.
Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to keep patient and team-member information confidential.
Ability to withstand crisis situations.
Customer service skills for interacting with patients, team members, and visitors.
Knowledge of and experience with electronic health records.

Responsibilities

Perform accurate and efficient patient assessments.
Document the continuum of care accurately.
Demonstrate safe and accurate technical skills and competency in procedures routinely performed in the office.
Operate office and medical equipment using proper techniques.
Triage patients accurately and in accordance with provider instructions.
Provide quality patient care and accurately follow provider directions.
Handle specimens using proper techniques; label and process them correctly and prepare them for transfer to the laboratory.
Follow biohazard safety practices, including changing gloves between patients and manually delivering specimens to the lab when required.
Perform nursing duties using appropriate personal protective equipment and in accordance with OSHA standards.
Perform duties within the scope of practice and the organization's policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
