About The Position

This role is for a Licensed Practice Nurse (LPN) or Medical Assistant to join a dynamic Urgent Care team in Kingman, Arizona. The position provides nursing assistance and patient care, ensuring patient comfort, safety, and personal needs are met. The role also involves assisting physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners in a medical office setting, performing various patient care duties as part of a multidisciplinary team, as delegated by a physician.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a practical or vocational nursing program
  • High school or Equivalent
  • Current, valid Arizona LPN license or compact state LPN/LVN license
  • American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification
  • DPS Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Has attended a medical assistant training program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs or The Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools; OR Has a Medical Assistant Certification issued by National Healthcareer Association (CCMA), American Medical Technologist (RMA), American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA), or American Medical Certification Association (CMAC); OR Has completed a medical services training program of the Armed Forces of the United States.
  • Must be able to distinguish appropriate colors, communicate using telephone, and able to consistently reach and/or work above and below shoulder level lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Capable of walking or being on feet 90% of time per day with frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, standing and sitting at desk 10% of the time per day.
  • Expected duties have routine potential for exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues and to chemicals, biological, and radioactive substances.

Responsibilities

  • Works under the direction of the provider and the Arizona State Nurse Practice Act to provide professional nursing care for clinic patients in compliance with nursing standards and regulations.
  • Triage patients by phone or in person, receiving and implementing telephone physician orders, maintaining clinical communication in a dynamic environment.
  • Assists providers and staff in coordinating patient care for both clinic and procedures.
  • Performs CLIA waived lab tests and obtains specimens, performs proficiency testing and runs controls for waived tests.
  • May perform venipuncture.
  • Responsible for patient care under the direct supervision (in the office suite or exam room) of a Physician, Physician Assistant, or Nurse Practitioner.
  • Escorts patient to the exam room and prepares patient for the exam including vital stats, history, and reason for seeking care.
  • Cross trains in data entry, balancing of accounts, charge fees and collect payments due Schedules/confirms appointments.
