LPN or Medical Assistant - 36 Hours Weekly - Dermatology Clinic
About The Position
Essentia Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse or Certified Medical Assistant to serve in the dermatology practice at our South University Clinic in Fargo, North Dakota. This LPN or CMA works 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday. No weekend, holiday, or on-call rotations are required. Our outpatient Dermatology department delivers high-demand medical, surgical, and cosmetic skin care, providing vital services ranging from full-body skin cancer screenings and excisions to complex chronic condition management and aesthetic treatments. Working within a dedicated Monday–Friday outpatient schedule, you’ll partner side-by-side with board-certified dermatologists, experienced advanced practice providers, and skilled nursing staff in a collaborative, procedure-rich setting. Requirements
- Education as required for licensure.
- LPN: North Dakota LPN license required upon hire.
- LPN: Minnesota LPN license required within 3 months of hire.
- CMA: Current registration or certification as a Medical Assistant OR verifiable completion of a Medical Assistant Program and must become certified within one year of date of hire.
- CMA: Must pass certification within two attempts.
- CMA: Must be registered as a Medication Assistant III through the North Dakota Board of Nursing within 60 days of hire/transfer.
- Clinical Assistant can NOT administer medication prior to being registered as a MAIII through the ND BON.
- BOTH: AHA Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 3 months of hire.
Responsibilities
- Assists RN, Physician and other providers and provides direct patient care in the ambulatory and/or home care setting to contribute to meeting the mission and goals of Essentia Health.
- Will perform identified procedures for which competencies have been demonstrated.
- Cares for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly as noted on age-related category.
