About The Position

We are hiring for a Licensed Practice Nurse (LPN) or Medical Assistant to join our Urgent Care team on a per diem basis (part-time). This role provides nursing assistance and patient care to ensure the comfort, safety, and personal needs of patients. The position assists physicians/physician assistants/nurse practitioners in a medical office setting and performs various patient care duties within a multidisciplinary team as delegated by a physician.

Requirements

  • LPN Candidates: Graduate of a practical or vocational nursing program
  • LPN Candidates: High school or Equivalent
  • LPN Candidates: Current, valid Arizona LPN license or compact state LPN/LVN license
  • LPN Candidates: American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification
  • MA Candidates: High School or Equivalent
  • MA Candidates: American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification
  • MA Candidates: DPS Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • MA Candidates: Must meet one of the following criteria: Has attended a medical assistant training program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs or The Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools; OR If program was not accredited by the above agencies, must have a Medical Assistant Certification issued by National Healthcareer Association (CCMA), American Medical Technologist (RMA), American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA), or American Medical Certification Association (CMAC).
  • MA Candidates: Has completed a medical services training program of the Armed Forces of the United States.

Responsibilities

  • LPN: Works under the direction of the provider and the Arizona State Nurse Practice Act to provide professional nursing care for clinic patients in compliance with nursing standards and regulations.
  • LPN: Triage patients by phone or in person, receiving and implementing telephone physician orders, maintaining clinical communication in a dynamic environment.
  • LPN: Assists providers and staff in coordinating patient care for both clinic and procedures.
  • LPN: Performs CLIA waived lab tests and obtains specimens, performs proficiency testing and runs controls for waived tests.
  • LPN: May perform venipuncture.
  • MA: Responsible for patient care under the direct supervision (in the office suite or exam room) of a Physician, Physician Assistant, or Nurse Practitioner.
  • MA: Escorts patient to the exam room and prepares patient for the exam including vital stats, history, and reason for seeking care.
  • MA: Cross trains in data entry, balancing of accounts, charge fees and collect payments due. Schedules/confirms appointments.
  • MA: Performs CLIA waived lab tests and obtains specimens, performs proficiency testing and runs controls for waived tests.
  • MA: May perform venipuncture.
