LPN or Medical Assistant - Part Time Flex - Pediatric Clinic
About The Position
Essentia Health is seeking a licensed practical nurse (LPN) or certified medical assistant (CMA) to serve in the pediatric practice at the South University Clinic in Fargo, North Dakota. The employee may also be required to float to the Lights Clinic in West Fargo. The position usually works 24 hours per week, with a flexible schedule that may be increased or decreased without notice based on facility needs. Shifts are scheduled between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Weekend, holiday, and on-call rotations are not required. The position qualifies for full-time benefits. The role assists registered nurses, physicians, and other providers and delivers direct patient care in an ambulatory setting in support of Essentia Health’s mission and goals. The employee performs procedures for which competency has been demonstrated and cares for patients from newborns through elderly individuals, as relevant to the assigned age-related category. The pediatric clinics provide outpatient care for infants through young adults in a collaborative setting with pediatricians, clinical staff, and pediatric subspecialists. The position is based at the South University Clinic, with possible work at The Lights Clinic in West Fargo. Requirements
- Education as required for licensure.
- For LPN candidates: current North Dakota LPN license upon hire.
- For LPN candidates: Minnesota LPN license within three months of hire.
- For CMA candidates: current medical assistant registration or certification, or verifiable completion of a medical assistant program; must become certified within one year of hire and pass certification within two attempts.
- For CMA candidates: registration as a Medication Assistant III through the North Dakota Board of Nursing within 60 days of hire or transfer; clinical assistants may not administer medication before registration.
- For both LPN and CMA candidates: AHA Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within three months of hire.
Responsibilities
- Assist registered nurses, physicians, and other providers in the ambulatory care setting.
- Provide direct patient care in support of Essentia Health’s mission and goals.
- Perform identified procedures for which competencies have been demonstrated.
- Care for patients ranging from newborns to elderly individuals, as applicable to the assigned age-related category.
- Float to the Lights Clinic in West Fargo if required.
