Our pediatric team engages in a collaborative team model approach as each member of the team works closely together proudly providing convenient, comprehensive primary care to children ages 0-18. We are located in beautiful northwest Arizona. Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) and Medical Assistants (MA) assist in providing excellent patient care by assisting physicians/physician assistants/nurse practitioners in a medical office setting. Performs a variety of patient care duties within the construct of a multidisciplinary patient care team as delegated by physician.

Requirements

Graduate of a practical or vocational nursing program
High school or Equivalent
Current, valid Arizona LPN license or compact state LPN/LVN license
American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification
DPS Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card
Has attended a medical assistant training program accredited by one of the following: The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs or The Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools
Has a Medical Assistant Certification issued by one of the following: National Healthcareer Association: CCMA, American Medical Technologist: RMA, American Association of Medical Assistants: AAMA, National Center for Competency Testing: NCMA, American Medical Certification Association: CMAC
Has completed a medical services training program of the Armed Forces of the United States

If your Medical Assistant program was not accredited by one of the above agencies, you will need to have a Medical Assistant Certification issued by one of the following. If needed, we will assist you in obtaining a CCMA certification.

Responsibilities

Works under the direction of the provider and the Arizona State Nurse Practice Act to provide professional nursing care for clinic patients in compliance with nursing standards and regulations.
Triage patients by phone or in person, receiving and implementing telephone physician orders, maintaining clinical communication in a dynamic environment.
Assists providers and staff in coordinating patient care for both clinic and procedures.
Performs CLIA waived lab tests and obtains specimens, performs proficiency testing and runs controls for waived tests.
May perform venipuncture.
Responsible for patient care under the direct supervision (in the office suite or exam room) of a Physician, Physician Assistant, or Nurse Practitioner.
Escorts patient to the exam room and prepares patient for the exam including vital stats, history, and reason for seeking care.
Cross trains in data entry, balancing of accounts, charge fees and collect payments due Schedules/confirms appointments.
