About The Position

Outpatient MAT Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) seeking an LPN/LVN Nurse Supervisor for full-time hours. The role involves directing patient care, facilitating workflows, serving as a staff resource, and providing team leadership in an outpatient opioid treatment program. The LPN Nursing Supervisor maintains standards of professional nursing practice in accordance with clinic policy and procedures. This position offers a lower-stress environment in a medication dispensary, with no heavy lifting or bedside care. It provides stable shifts, early morning hours for a good work/life balance, paid training, and the opportunity to help others in a recovery environment.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing (LPN/LVN)
  • Minimum of 2+ years related nursing practice
  • Current LPN/LVN license in the state of Washington
  • Current CPR certification where required by state regulation.

Nice To Haves

  • Supervisory experience preferred, unless otherwise required by State or Licensing requirements.
  • Prefer experience in behavioral health/addiction recovery environment (inpatient or outpatient).
  • Previous nursing experience in addiction recovery or behavioral health settings, such as outpatient, residential, or correctional facilities.
  • Familiarity with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), including the safe handling, administration, and documentation of methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone.
  • Experience in medication dispensing, monitoring patient dosing, and observing for adverse reactions or medication interactions.
  • Understanding of nursing best practices related to substance use treatment, including trauma-informed care and harm reduction principles.
  • Accurate and timely documentation of medication administration records (MARs), patient vitals, and incident reports in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., DEA, 42 CFR Part 2, HIPAA, and Joint Commission standards) related to controlled substances and patient care.
  • Proven ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, counselors, case managers, and support staff to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the Medication Room of the clinic is in full compliance with all facility or clinic policies, Federal and State Laws and Regulations at all times.
  • Supervising daily clinical operations for staff, making staff assignments and creating schedules, updating schedules for providers and support staff when changes are made.
  • Supervising and evaluating work activities of nursing, technical, clerical, service or maintenance staff for the work group, and other clinic staff, as directed.
  • Ensuring that medical records for patients are in compliance with facility or clinic policies, Federal and State Laws and Regulations at all times, and reviewing medical records to ensure compliance.
  • Overseeing quality assurance activities and compliance with operational standards, participating in program development, development or implementation of operating policy and procedure, and promoting continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices, as requested.
  • Assisting with the recruitment, hiring and training of new staff.
  • Administering medications per physician/provider orders, accurately documenting medication administration, and ensuring accurate count of controlled substance medication administration on required documents.
  • Performing blood and other specimen collection and processing and reading test results as ordered by Program Physicians.
  • Transporting medication to other locations and/or working on a CTC Mobile Unit, based on clinic service model.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
