About The Position

Sentara is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the Sentara Neuro IMCU at Sentara Norfolk General in Norfolk, Virginia. This is a full-time, night shift position (7p-7a). The Neuro IMCU is a specialized unit caring for a variety of neuroscience patients, including those with back and neck surgical needs, epilepsy, all neurosurgeries, and stroke patients (surgical and non-surgical). The LPN provides basic nursing care under the supervision of an RN or Licensed Independent Practitioner (LIP), adhering to the scope of practice defined by the State Boards of Nursing. The role requires attention to detail, compassion, and the ability to handle physically demanding tasks, making the LPN a vital part of the healthcare team supporting nurses and physicians in delivering comprehensive medical services.

Requirements

LPN Degree REQUIRED
Virginia LPN License REQUIRED
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required within 90-days of hire

Responsibilities
