Pathways Center’s Care Campus operates two Crisis Stabilization Units (CSUs): one for adults age 18 and older and one for children and adolescents ages 5–17. These short-term, medically monitored crisis residential programs typically last 5–7 days and provide care to stabilize acute psychiatric or behavioral symptoms, evaluate treatment needs, and develop plans for people served. The CSUs operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and provide community-based alternatives to hospitalization, including psychiatric stabilization and detoxification. The Care Campus also has a Crisis Service Center (CSC), which provides on-site and telephone crisis intervention and 23-hour observation services around the clock. The walk-in CSC offers psychiatric- and substance-use-related crisis evaluation and brief intervention for individuals experiencing an abrupt, substantial behavioral change, severe functional impairment, or increased personal distress. Licensed behavioral health professionals provide interventions intended to prevent out-of-community treatment or hospitalization. The Licensed Practical Nurse assists the Registered Nurse with medication oversight and coordination of medical services. The LPN provides general nursing care, supports medication administration and related coordination, records vital signs, monitors and reports changes in client condition, and documents care in electronic systems. In conjunction with the medical team, the LPN provides nursing services, participates in team staffing, and may conduct medical assessments during walk-in triage.
