This is a full-time position for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the MedSurg Ortho-Urology unit at High Point Medical Center, working day shifts. The role involves engaging in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices. The LPN will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, involving patients and families throughout the continuum of care. Key responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions, adjusting care plans, mobilizing resources, collaborating with the care team, and upholding a culture of safety. The position requires continuous evaluation of patient, team, and unit outcomes, with appropriate action taken as needed. The LPN may administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely and according to protocols. Effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution are essential for fostering team collaboration and appropriate delegation. The role also involves pursuing professional development, completing required education, and maintaining certifications, while adhering to ethical decision-making and respecting interdisciplinary roles. The LPN will maintain accurate and timely EHR documentation and may be required to float to other units or facilities to meet patient care needs. The nurse must demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate for the age of the patients served, including understanding growth and development principles and assessing data reflective of patient status.
