About The Position
The LPN/LVN (Acute locked adult psych unit) position is located at Corona Regional Rehabilitation Center in Corona, CA. This role reports to the Nurse Manager and Director of Behavioral Health Services and requires accountability for the promotion, maintenance, and restoration of health for patients assigned to their care. The position utilizes specialized knowledge and skills in the application of nursing process to deliver quality care to individuals with serious and persistent mental illness. The LPN/LVN works in conjunction with the Charge Nurse and may function as Relief Charge Nurse as needed. Corona Regional Medical Center is a 238-bed community hospital network comprised of a 160-bed acute care hospital and a 78-bed rehabilitation campus. It is certified by The Joint Commission, employs more than 1,250 trained healthcare workers and has a medical staff of approximately 347 physicians representing more than 40 specialties.
Requirements
- Knowledge and understanding of psychiatric diagnosis(es), terminology and medical record charting.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- At least two (2) years experience working with clients with serious and persistent mental illness, preferably one of those years in an inpatient setting.
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- Assaultive Behavior Management Training required within 90 days from date of hire.
- Current California LVN license required.
- Current BLS (CPR) Certificate required.
Responsibilities
