About The Position

Spectrum Healthcare Resources along with TeamHealth has an excellent opportunity for a Licensed Professional Nurse (LPN) in Auglaize County Jail in Wapakoneta, Ohio. The LPN will be providing Correctional Medical care for those housed at the Auglaize County Jail. This position offers a full-time schedule with 12-hour day shifts, typically from 7 am to 7 pm, three days a week, with every other Saturday. Sundays are generally not required unless mutually agreed upon by trading a Saturday with administration approval. The role involves providing a range of medical care to an adult population, including primary, addiction, urgent, and behavioral health care. The work is evidence-based, focusing on addressing patient needs rather than wants, and is free from coding, billing, insurance, satisfaction surveys, ICD-10, and DRGS. This setting offers a vast array of medical pathology not typically seen in other healthcare locations and is socially meaningful as patients are a socially marginalized group lacking ordinary access to medical care due to lack of insurance, mental illness, or homelessness. The position provides a large degree of medical autonomy, free from micromanaging, with extensive nursing guidelines in place. It is considered safer than many other healthcare settings due to the prohibition of weapons, the handling of controversial inmates by correctional staff, and the ability to stop and restart visits. Requirements

• Graduate of a school of practical or vocational nursing approved by a state agency or accredited by the ACEN
• A minimum of 12 months of experience in a primary care setting within the last 24 months
• Active, unrestricted OH LPN license
• BLS from the American Heart Association

• Provide medical care to an adult population in a correctional facility
