About The Position

Spectrum Healthcare Resources, in partnership with TeamHealth, is seeking a Licensed Professional Nurse (LPN) to provide correctional medical care at the Auglaize County Jail in Wapakoneta, Ohio. This full-time day position involves 12-hour shifts, working three days a week from 7 am to 7 pm, with every other Saturday. The role focuses on providing a range of medical care, including primary, addiction, urgent, and behavioral health services to an adult population. The position offers a unique and socially meaningful work environment, addressing the healthcare needs of a marginalized population. It also provides a significant degree of medical autonomy, free from micromanagement, and is considered safer than many other healthcare settings due to strict security protocols.

Requirements

• Graduate of a school of practical or vocational nursing approved by a state agency or accredited by the ACEN
• A minimum of 12 months of experience in a primary care setting within the last 24 months
• Active, unrestricted OH LPN license
• BLS from the American Heart Association

Responsibilities

• Provide a range of medical care to include primary, addiction, urgent and behavioral health care
• Address patient needs based on evidence-based care
• Manage a vast array of medical pathology
• Work in a socially meaningful capacity serving a socially marginalized population
• Exercise a large degree of medical autonomy
• Adhere to extensive nursing guidelines
