About The Position

Team Health and Spectrum Healthcare Resources has an excellent opportunity for a Licensed Professional Nurse (LPN) in Portsmouth, Ohio. The LPN will be providing Correctional Medical care for those housed at the Scioto County Sheriff's Office. This is a full-time day shift position, staffing from 7 am to 7 pm with 12-hour shifts, serving an adult population.

Requirements

• Graduate of a school of practical or vocational nursing approved by a state agency or accredited by the ACEN.
• A minimum of 12 months of experience in a primary care setting within the last 24 months.
• Active, unrestricted OH LPN license.
• BLS from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Provide a range of medical care to include primary, addiction, urgent and behavioral health care.
• Address needs, not wants, with evidence-based care.
• Manage a vast array of medical pathology.
• Work in a socially meaningful capacity, serving a socially marginalized patient population lacking ordinary access to medical care.
• Exercise a large degree of medical autonomy with extensive nursing guidelines in place.
• Work in a safer environment than most other healthcare settings due to security protocols.
