About The Position
We are seeking a compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a Long Term Care unit located on the campus of Hilo Medical Center. In this role, you will provide direct nursing care to residents, administer medications, perform assessments, and assist with specialized treatments in a collaborative healthcare environment.
Requirements
- Active LPN license (Hawaii license upon acceptance).
- Current BLS certification.
- Minimum 1 year of Long Term Care experience.
- Must be flexible to work varied shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Proof of flu vaccination required before the contract start date.
- Must arrive the Thursday before the start date to complete the required employee health appointment on Friday.
Responsibilities
- Perform resident assessments and medication administration.
- Assist with admissions and discharges.
- Provide ADL assistance and routine nursing care.
- Perform G-tube, urinary catheter, tracheostomy, CPAP, wound vac, and nebulizer care.
- Communicate patient status and changes with physicians and nurse practitioners.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure quality patient care.
