About The Position

The Lead Licensed Practical Nurse (Lead LPN) serves as the primary point of contact between the nursing leadership, providers, clinicians, and clinical support staff for nursing-related workflow coordination, issue resolution, and daily clinical operations support. This role functions as a clinical workflow resource in the clinical setting, coordinating walk-ins, medication refill workflows, patient messaging, and other clinical support processes to promote efficient patient flow/throughput, effective communication, and timely, organized, patient-centered care. Working collaboratively with nursing leadership, LPNs, Medical Assistants (MAs), Clinical Assistants (CAs), providers, the Lead LPN supports consistency in clinical workflows, role clarity, and adherence to established protocols and operational standards. Under the direct supervision of the Director of Nursing and the general oversight of the Chief Nursing Officer, this position provides day-to-day coordination and support for clinical workflow processes.

Requirements

  • Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing with the applicable State Board of Nursing.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of clinical nursing experience preferred, ideally in ambulatory care or outpatient settings.
  • Previous experience supporting workflow coordination or clinical operations preferred.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical record systems (e.g., eClinicalWorks/eCW) and vaccine tracking systems (e.g., OSIIS).
  • Strong organizational, communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between nursing leadership, providers, clinicians, and clinical support staff for nursing-related workflow coordination, issue resolution, and daily clinical operations support.

  • Promote efficient patient flow/throughput, effective communication, and timely, organized, patient-centered care.
  • Support consistency in clinical workflows, role clarity, and adherence to established protocols and operational standards in collaboration with nursing leadership, LPNs, MAs, CAs, and providers.
  • Provide day-to-day coordination and support for clinical workflow processes under the direct supervision of the Director of Nursing and general oversight of the Chief Nursing Officer.
