About The Position
Highland Hospital is opening a new 20-bed Acute Medicine Unit on East 5 in November 2026. This unit will provide timely, compassionate, high-quality acute care to patients, many of whom will arrive directly from the Emergency Department. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Acute Care will provide patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse, contributing to the physical and emotional comfort of patients and their families. The LPN will work collaboratively with other healthcare team members to deliver direct patient care and support unit operations, adhering to the differentiated scope of practice for LPNs in New York State.
Requirements
- Fulfills educational requirements for licensure as an LPN in NYS.
- Licensed in NYS as an LPN.
- Current CPR certification.
Nice To Haves
- 6 months work experience as an LPN in an acute care hospital OR long term care.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
- Contribute to the physical and emotional comfort of patients and their families.
- Provide direct patient care in collaboration with other health care team members.
- Complete other tasks to support patient care.
