About The Position
Highland Hospital is opening a new 20-bed Acute Medicine Unit on East 5 in November 2026 and is seeking passionate, team-oriented nurses. This role offers the chance to help shape a new unit, foster a positive team culture, and deliver exceptional care to patients, many of whom will arrive directly from the ED. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse, contributing to the physical and emotional comfort of patients and their families. The LPN works collaboratively with other healthcare team members to provide direct patient care and support other patient care tasks, adhering to the differentiated scope of practice for LPNs and RNs as defined by the NYS Education Department.
Requirements
- Fulfills educational requirements for licensure as an LPN in NYS.
- Licensed in NYS as an LPN.
- Current CPR certification.
- New graduate LPN or prefer 6 months work experience as an LPN in an acute care hospital OR long term care.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
- Contribute to the physical and emotional comfort of patients and their families.
- Provide direct patient care in collaboration with other health care team members.
- Complete other tasks to support patient care.
- Adhere to the differentiated scope of practice of LPNs and RNs in NYS.
