About The Position

The LPN facilitates quality patient care within the scope of licensure. Partners with clinical staff and providers to ensure medical students, residents and other learners academic and clinical experience prepares them to succeed in their post education endeavors. Supports the enterprise services division of the college, including Health Informatics, Medical Billing, Medical Records and others to ensure patient billing and documentation are complete and accurate and follow all HIPPA and other regulatory requirements. This position will be assigned to the University Medical Center Clinic located in Demopolis, Alabama.

Requirements

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the State of Alabama in good standing.
  • Final candidates must submit to and successfully pass a post-offer drug screen.
  • Ability to perform patient care as directed by a physician, nurse practitioner, or other qualified medical professional.
  • Efficient and accurate computer and data entry skills.
  • Excellent communication, public relations and customer service and telephone etiquette skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced work environment.
  • Desire to exemplify the core values and mission of the organization, always exercising utmost discretion, diplomacy and tact in patient/staff interactions.
  • Willingness to learn and consistently deliver patient centered high quality customer friendly service.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of protected health information and follow HIPAA regulations at all times.
  • Punctual and reliable.
  • Prior candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment background investigation and information obtained from social media and other internet sources.

Nice To Haves

  • Current CPR certification.
  • Experience working with an electronic health record systems in a previous learning or employed role.
